Due to a change in the law of the Chamber of Architects in Germany I was informed in early 2019 that I was not able to hold my German architecture license as a foreign living architect without active projects in Germany. – After receiving these disappointing news, I had been researching and contacting the Chamber of Architects in Germany several times to better understand my options, but was told that in order to hold an active license, I would have to work actively on projects located in Germany. Given the circumstance that I already fulfilled all the requirements to become a licensed architect in Germany previously and was holding a German Architecture license, it would be possible at any time to regain my German license if I have an active project located in Germany.
